The Mendocino AVA is overlay that includes all or part of the appellations marked with an asterisk (*) above.  Over 90% of grape growing acreage in Mendocino County is part of this super region.

The North Coast AVA is another overlay that includes all of Mendocino County along with Napa, Sonoma, Marin, Solono, and Lake Counties.
