Community Meetings to discuss conjunctive labeling

The mission of the Mendocino Winegrowers, Inc. (MWI) is to promote the reputation of our grapes and wines. With that in mind, the MWI Board has decided to explore and evaluate the benefits of “conjunctive labeling” for possible adoption by the County.

The term, for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, refers to the practice of labeling a wine to show both region and sub-region of origin. Building brand equity for Mendocino County wines would help preserve and strengthen our County's position as a recognized world-class wine region while also increasing sales of wines produced from Mendocino County grapes.
The MWI Board wants to hear your views on this subject. We will be holding community meetings and/or one-on-ones during the next couple of weeks.  We hope you will consider attending one of the meetings to share your thoughts with us.  Please feel free, as well, to share this email with any other interested parties, whether they are members of the MWI or not.
We have scheduled the following meetings for next week and will schedule additional meetings as needed:
  • Tuesday, May 22 from 6-8pm at Barra of Mendocino
  • Wednesday, May 23 from 5-7pm at Brutocao’s Hopland Tasting Room
  • Thursday, May 24 from 5-7pm at the Anderson Valley Grange
